How accurate is a weight estimate from volume?
Usually within a few percent for a clean solid model. The main sources of error are the exact alloy density and any material lost or added in finishing. It is close enough to price and plan, not to invoice.
Where do I find my model volume?
Most jewelry CAD software reports volume directly. In Rhino it is the Volume command; Matrix and MatrixGold show it in the model properties. Enter that number here.
Can you render the piece before I cast it?
Yes, that is the point of rendering. Approve a photoreal image of the piece in each metal first, then cast only what you decide to make.
