Jewelry Rendering Cost: What You Actually Pay in 2026
Real numbers for jewelry rendering cost: per-render prices, what drives them up, and how rendering compares with sample photography.

Jewelry rendering costs between $15 and $150 per image at most studios, depending on quality tier and volume. Most e-commerce work lands between $25 and $50 per render. That is the honest range, and anyone quoting far outside it is either cutting corners or padding.
Here is what sits behind those numbers.
The price bands
Budget renders ($15 to $25). Fast, preset lighting, one or two angles. Fine for internal reviews and marketplace listings where volume matters more than beauty. Our catalog tier works this way, and you can see it on our pricing page.
Standard renders ($25 to $50). Proper material setup, several angles, e-commerce ready. This is where most stores should buy. Our own 3D jewelry rendering is a flat $15 per CAD file, which includes nine HD images and three videos across all three gold colors.
Hero renders ($45 to $150). Hand-tuned lighting, print resolution, stone fire that survives a billboard. Used for campaign images and ads, where one image carries the launch.
What pushes the price up
Four things, mainly:
- Stone count. A solitaire is quick. A 240-stone pave cuff is not. Heavy pave typically adds 20 to 40 percent.
- Scene complexity. White backgrounds are standard. Styled scenes with props, water, or fabric cost more because each scene is built once and by hand.
- File condition. A clean CAD file renders at base price. A broken export needs repair time. Good studios quote the fix before starting, not after.
- Modeling. If you have no CAD file, someone has to build one first. That is a separate step, and it has to happen before any rendering can start.
Rendering versus the old way
Take one engagement ring sold in three metal colors.
The sample route: three samples at roughly $400 to $900 each in gold and labor, plus a photoshoot at $30 to $75 per finished shot, plus shipping and waiting. You are near $2,000 and three to five weeks.
The render route: one CAD file at a flat $15, which already includes nine HD images and three videos across all three gold colors, delivered inside a day or two.
The sample route still makes sense for a piece you know will sell. For a new collection where half the designs might not survive, rendering first is simply cheaper insurance.
How to keep your own costs down
Send clean files, batch your orders to reach volume pricing, and approve a style template before bulk work starts so revisions do not eat the savings. And always ask for a free sample first. Any studio confident in its quality will render one piece to prove it.
